Janhavi has trained in Odissi, one of the 8 classical Indian dance styles, for more than 15 years. Starting her dance education with Smt. Anuradha Gandhi in Pune, she was formally inducted into the world of solo public performances through her Manch Pravesh in the year 2001. Thereafter, she embraced the rigorous Guru-Shishya tradition by learning under Guru Smt. Parwati Dutta at MAHAGAMI Gurukul, Aurangabad. ​

She is also embedded in Bollywood and Folk dance styles from India.

Anubhuti - At the national and local level, she has been a part of an ongoing project of MAHAGAMI gurukul viz. Anubhuti - a multimedia art appreciation series carried out in Marathwada region. (since 2005)
As part of the MAHAGAMI repertory, she has performed in Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad among other Indian cities.
She is also embedded in Bollywood and Folk dance styles from India.
